The next, twelfth edition of the ARENA DESIGN fair - a meeting space for creators, manufacturers and lovers of design - will begin soon. The motto of this year's event will be the idea of slowness.
The fair will be held from February 25-28, 2020 in the space of Pavilion 3 of the Poznań International Fair. The program of the event includes numerous exhibitions, thematic zones where the most interesting works of Polish designers will be presented, and even meetings with representatives of a law firm dealing with issues of copyright liability in relation to intellectual property rights.

Resources 2. Slow materials
"Resources 2. Slow materials" is the second installment of the exhibition series by Agata Nowotny - sociologist, educator, researcher working at the intersection of business and design. The curator looks at the processes of design and production of objects in search of new, sustainable and responsible actions, alternatives and modern solutions that offer a chance to counter environmental disaster.
The starting point for this year's exhibition will be waste, leftovers and pollution. Rapid and mass production has led to irreversible damage to the environment, leaving mountains of useless, bulging garbage that decompose at a dizzying pace for hundreds and thousands of years. Is it possible to extend their lifespan or slow down the process by which they fall out of circulation?
When I look at things, I wonder not only why they serve a purpose and whether they are pretty. I pay attention first and foremost to how and from what they were made. Each form betrays how it was made. Each material tells its own story. Each thing is a certain statement. This year's exhibition "Resources 2. Slow materials" is a kind of research, an investigation uncovering the fate of the materials from which things are made. However, not those extracted from natural resources, but those created and processed from existing or even used ones. Garbage is our resource today. We must learn to use them," says the exhibition's curator, Agata Nowotny.
AD ROOMS chmara.rosinke
The duo chmara.rosinke undertook to arrange a seventy-meter exhibition space by designing an installation reminiscent of abstract living rooms. The basis of the concept is to create an exhibition open to visitors, allowing them to view the projects from different perspectives and heights.
Designers of the Year 2020
This year's edition of ARENA DESIGN puts the spotlight on young Polish designers who impress not only with their sense of aesthetics and dynamic designs, but also with their responsible and ecological approach to design. The works of the 2020 Designers of the Year - Jan Kochanski, Tartaruga and UAUPROJECT - will be shown at an exhibition arranged by Maria Jeglinska-Adamczewska, creative director of ARENA DESIGN.
Copy - Inspiration - Parallel Thought
Another important theme of the fair will be an exhibition related to the fight against intellectual theft in the design industry. It will be told by the #loveOriginal association, which was established to make architects, investors and clients aware of the value of owning originals rather than imitations.
